Event Details

We invite you to Creative Connections, an event for organisations interested in exploring how the arts can support displaced communities.

This event is part of “Warm”, a creative initiative funded by Arts Council England and led by Create North on behalf of Newcastle Libraries. Ukrainian artists, in collaboration with UK creatives, have participated in residencies at City Library to explore themes of ‘warmth’ — including what it means to feel welcome, safe, and supported in a new community.

The work produced during these residencies has resulted in a diverse collection of exhibitions and installations, featuring photography, dance, ceramics, and music, which will be on display at City Library from 4th to 10th October.

At the event, the artists, project managers, and library team will share their experiences and insights from the project, offering a chance to reflect on the role of the arts in fostering empathy, connection, and community support. There will also be time to view the exhibitions and meet the artists.

Please join us on Tuesday, 8th October at 3:00 pm at City Library to be part of this important conversation.
