Create North Ltd provides entrepreneurial and business support to cultural and heritage practitioners and organisations across the Northeast of England. At Create North, we believe that meaningful and sustainable growth in the creative and cultural sector must be aligned with environmental responsibility.

We recognise that the best way to support long-term innovation and resilience in our sector is by considering the needs of the environment. This is why we integrate sustainability into every aspect of our work, ensuring that our practices not only empower communities but also protect the planet for future generations.

By embedding sustainability into our business support services, we aim to foster a cultural sector that thrives on creativity, equity, and ecological care. To this end, we continually evaluate our environmental impact and prioritise action to reduce our footprint. We have identified the following environmental impacts as our immediate focus:

We will continue to improve our environmental management system by working to the Investors in the Environment (iiE) criteria, considering any changes in legislation, our organisation, and other factors. We will convey this policy to all our employees ensuring that they are provided with training to increase awareness of environmental matters.

Luke Shaw is our Sustainability Champion and has designated responsibility for the day-to-day implementation of this policy.

Create North will make this policy available when requested to interested parties including members of the public, including making a copy available on the Create North website.
