Event Details
Bridie Jackson is a musician based in Newcastle. Whether leading a mixed ability choir of 70+ singers, facilitating creative workshops or teaching song writing in a school setting, her aim is to bring an ethos of inclusivity and collaboration to all her work. She also writes and produces musical scores for theatre and dance productions, and is currently working on productions with November Club Theatre Company and Teesside Dance. She also regularly performs across the Northeast with her duo, Brick.
Bridie is working with Create North on the Warm project, and as part of this, will be running a creative workshop at Newcastle City Library, to engage with the community there and gather some responses that will be recorded and included in a special sound installation being created for the Warm exhibition at Newcastle City Library in October 2024. Through this, there’s a fabulous opportunity to work with her.
There are 4 places available to shadow and support Bridie at 1 participatory workshop at the library, plus an introductory session beforehand. The objective of these sessions is to give you a deeper understanding of working in the field of participatory/ socially engaged arts. As you may already be aware, this is becoming an increasingly important and valued aspect of the creative sector in the North East, and having an understanding of, and experience in it could be very valuable to your career in the arts. To book your place, sign up on this page by Monday 26th of August
