To celebrate the exhibiting of surrealist artist Salvador Dalí’s Christ of St John of the Cross at the Spanish Gallery in Bishop Auckland, Create North has commissioned artist Rachel Levitas to deliver a printing making workshop for graffiti artists wanting to explore the use of stencilling in print at the 42 Market Place Bishop Auckland 23rd July 2022.
Dali’s work will act as the inspiration for the creative content of the work created in the workshop and the class will start with a tour of the work and the Spanish Gallery.
Rachel is from Durham, studied Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art, Advanced Printmaking at Central St Martins and Postgraduate Painting at the Royal Academy Schools where she was awarded the Turner Gold Medal.
Rachel has extensive experience in teaching a variety of printing techniques and has run several projects in the community and has worked with a variety of students ranging in age from four years old to 80+.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Fully Funded opportunities to participate in this workshop are reserved for creatives living or working in South Durham.
