Create Berwick

Create North is delighted to have been commissioned by Northumberland County Council to support the development of Create Berwick a four-year, culture led, regeneration programme funded by North of the Tyne Combined Authority.

Create Berwick is a place-based approach to investing in the development, sustainability and growth of the cultural and creative sector. It aims to regenerate the high street and local centres, improve the quality of life of the town’s people and communities, and provide supportive and attractive environments for creative and cultural businesses and people to locate, start-up, grow, and flourish.

The vision of Create Berwick is to establish the town as a renowned arts and cultural destination that supports its creative communities to develop and thrive. To support the realisation of this vision, Create North is offering local creative people and organisations a whole range of activities designed to ensure that they can make the very most of the opportunities the regeneration programme will bring.

This will include:

  • Events
  • Enterprise and sector skill training
  • Networking
  • Mentoring
  • Coaching
  • Signposting
  • Access to grants and investment funds.
  • Opportunities to create new work, engage new audiences and build new relationships.

The programme of activity is FREE and open to anyone who sees themselves as part Berwick’s creative community. This embraces artists, creative practitioners, performers, creative producers, curators, archivists, community artists, creative leaders, creative SMEs, creative educationalists and youth workers, and creative young people.

So, if you’re a painter, illustrator, writer, maker of music and dance, maker of stuff –  a creative doer of any sort and you live or work between Berwick and the north shore of the Tyne and can contribute to, and benefit from, the town’s creative renaissance, then these activities are for you.

Check out our What’s on Calendar for upcoming events.
