In response to high demand for this particular workshop Create North has sought additional funding to commission a second workshop
This age-old and closely guarded technique is brought up to date by multi-media artist Rachel Levitas.
Over the course of workshop Rachel will:
- share the history of marbling with you
- introduce you to the recipes required for marbling
- discuss 2D and 3D marbling with acrylics
- create opportunities for you to prepare and marble paper
- talk about her own work and share insights into how she generates income from it
By the end of the class you will have created sheets of marbled paper.
Fully funded opportunities to participate in this workshop are reserved for creatives living or working in South Durham.
Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Rachel is from Durham. She studied Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art, Advanced Printmaking at Central St Martins, and Postgraduate Painting at the Royal Academy Schools where she was awarded the Turner Gold Medal.
Rachel has extensive experience in teaching a variety of printing techniques. She has run community projects and worked with students ranging from four year olds to seniors.
