Create North is delighted to announce that multimedia artist Rachel Levitas will be joining us again this autumn to run a fully funded workshop. We are joining Daisy Arts’ regular Saturday arts group for this session and inviting artists and novices alike to join us in exploring the fascinating results that can be achieved when using oil and acrylic in the same painting.

Rachel is from Durham. She studied Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art, Advanced Printmaking at Central St Martins, and Postgraduate Painting at the Royal Academy Schools where she was awarded the Turner Gold Medal.

Rachel has extensive experience in teaching a variety of printing techniques. She has run several community projects and has worked with a variety of students ranging in age from four year olds to seniors.

Over the course of workshop Rachel will:

• teach you about the compatibility of acrylic with oil
• discuss when to use acrylic with oil
• explore layered texture
• introduce you to recipes for specialist techniques
• create space for you to paint using both acrylic and oil
• talk about her own work and share insights into how she generates income from it.

By the end of the class, you will have created a painting using both acrylics and oils. Refreshments and lunch will be provided

Fully funded opportunities to participate in this workshop are reserved for creatives living or working in South Durham.
